Song Of The Day – Perasmenes Mou Agapes

Today’s song of the day is dedicated to the one and only Manolis Chiotis (Μανώλης Χιώτης).

Hiotis

Manolis was born in Thessaloniki on the 21st March 1920. He was a fantastic composer, singer and known as the no.1 bouzouki player ever. He was known for his unique playing style which was admired by many, including the likes of Jimi Hendrix, US President Lyndon Johnson,  Aristotle Onassis, Maria Callas, Prince Rainier III of Monaco and Grace Kelly.

Chiotis had a long and successful career and sadly passed away on his 50th birthday, 21st March 1970. This is why today, 21st March 2017, on the anniversary of his death, I have decided to feature one of my favourite songs of his.

Today’s SONG OF THE DAY is “Perasmenes Mou Agapes” “Περασμένες μου αγάπες”.

Here is one of my favourite videos of Manolis Chiotis and Mary Linda………

Here are the LYRICS – STIXOI

Here is a video of our bouzouki player Sotiri Theodosi playing this amazing tune at Marianna & Chris’s wedding at the Regency Banqueting Suite
